Instant Access to Chiropractic Guidelines and Protocols

Instant Access to Chiropractic Guidelines and Protocols by Lew Huff and David M. Brady provides a basic overview of several spinal, extremity, and general health conditions in a self-described "at-a-glance" format. Each section includes information regarding definition, etiology, principle symptoms, exam findings, lab & radiographic findings, and management guidelines. The book does provide some helpful information, but in most cases lacks appropriate detail. Clinicians looking for a text that provides detailed etiologic, diagnostic, and management data will not be adequately informed by this text.
Chapters on scoliosis, adhesive capsulitis, ligamentous injuries of the knee, cervical soft tissue injuries, etc., do not thoroughly cover these subjects. What IS provided in most chapters is an overview; helpful perhaps for someone already versed in the details of these conditions, but inadequate as a primary guide. Neither would this book provide adequate preparatory material for a challenging (such as an oral) board exam. This book makes some good contributions, but does not replace more detailed reference texts.
